Cast Iron fireplaces - Ordering Information

Below is some helpful information on our cast iron fireplaces and Carron fireplaces range.

Specifications

All measurements are approximate and may vary slightly, due to the manufacturing process and the nature of cast iron.

For solid fuel use we recomend a black finish, full polish fireplaces will discolour if used regularly on solid fuel. Do not burn anthracite or coke as this will reduce the life of your fireplace.

Fitting

The fitting of our products must be installed by a Hetas regisitered fitter. This not only ensures your fireplace is fitted safely but also covers you in the event of a fire. A list of registered fitters is available at www.hetas.co.uk

Care of your fireplace

Below are some simple care instructions to keep the product in tip top condition.

Full Polish Finish

Twice a year oil with a thin coat of a light oil, WD-40 is as good as anything. Surface rust
should be removed first using a fine wire wool. Cast Iron Fireplaces should be kept away from moisture.

Highlight/Black Finish

Coat with an iron paste and buff up to enhance the finish of your fireplace. We do not recomend using spray polish or other cleaning materials.
Cast iron is a natural material, which has minor imperfections.

Gas fires

Our gas fires are manufactured in the UK and comply to CE requirements and to BSEN509 2000. All gas fires must be fitted by a Gas Safe registered installer.
